The Role of the State

What is the state and what are its responsibilities? Which role does it play in different economic systems? Could an economy function without it?
These and many more questions will be addressed at our event “The Role of the State”. We will start off with an introductory talk on different theories of the state and continue with a comparison of the different roles the state plays in selected economic systems. We are hoping that this input will then spark an interactive and interdisciplinary discussion among the speakers and the audience!
